2023 May RWISA RISE-UP TOUR (1)

Welcome to our 1st  RWISA “RISE-UP” TOUR of 2023!

Since we are in the month of May, we felt it fitting that we celebrate our moms with memories of them.  We do know that Mothers should be celebrated every single day of every single year, so we are showcasing some of the memories, as well as the writing talent of these RWISA writers.

For 8 days, we invite you here to the RWISA site to enjoy, engage, and to celebrate moms… those who are still with us and those who have passed on.  Memories of Mom should never be forgotten and for the next 8 days, we’re bringing some special ones to the forefront and sharing them with you.

How can we not be appalled at the behavior that we witness some exhibiting towards their moms?  Hopefully, in some of these stories, you will be compelled to RISE UP and share a story or memory of your own mom, in hopes of making someone else appreciate theirs more.

Come along and journey with us!

LYRICS

You’re broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry go round
And you can’t find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains
And I’ll rise up
I’ll rise like the day
I’ll rise up
I’ll rise unafraid
I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again
And I’ll rise up
High like the waves
I’ll rise up
In spite of the ache
I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again
For you
For you
For you
For you
When the silence isn’t quiet
And it feels like it’s getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying
But I promise we’ll take the world to its feet
And move mountains
We’ll take it to its feet
And move mountains
And I’ll rise up
I’ll rise like the day
I’ll rise up
I’ll rise unafraid
I’ll rise up
And…

  1. Hi Nonnie. I was catching up over here and got to your day only to see that you were under the weather. You probably have gotten through it by now. I hope so.
You put all of this together so don’t worry that you did not post a blog. You are speaking and telling stories all the time in this club.
God Bless You for all you do!

  10. This song is beautiful. It means something different for me. I lost my husband in 2018 and my son in 2019. It is so fitting for my feelings. Thank you for sharing.

  12. Nonnie, thank you for your hard work. Your contribution for RWISA on this last day was definitely from the heart and so very meaningful. The work from each RWISA author was valuable in their thoughts, insights, memories, and fears. In a marathon it is all about reaching the end and then enjoying every step of the journey. Life is like that as is reading the RWISA tour for 2020.

Thank you Harriet Hodgson, P.T.L. Perrin, Yvette Calleiro, Maura Beth Brennan, and Nonnie Jules (last but not least) for providing thoughts to consider and reread often.

    • Maura Beth, you are very welcome! IT was my pleasure and my honor to ensure that this event was pushed heavily and that the contributions from all the others here were noticed. These people (including you) are amazing and I hope that everyone who followed the tour walked away with something that inspired them or touched them in some meaningful way.

    • Patty, I’m so glad to hear that you have enjoyed the tour! We here at RRBC & RWISA just love to give writers plenty of opportunities to do what writers should be doing the most, and that is constantly writing! It is only with that practice that we get better and better and growth is seen! RWISA does get a few more of these opportunities, but, RRBC gets them just the same. I find the ones that take part the most even within RRBC, are the RWISA writers!

Here’s to hoping that more of our awesome RRBC members become more engaged in our great opportunities to showcase their writing!

      Thanks, Patty!
